It usually starts with an instagram post, like: 'mom- are we making this?' Tailor/designer Hannie and her daughter Stefanie regularly spend their saturdays re-creating vintage and design classics for Stefanie's wardrobe.
'I like being able to transfer my knowledge and skills onto the next generations', says Hannie. She simplifies her patterns so less skilled hobby sewers are able to make them. 'Stefanie is handy, like many of her friends, but projects need to be finished in one day. Stefanie likes to wear them asap.'
Hannie Loete has quite a track record when it comes to pattern making, for over fourty years she worked as a stylist/designer/pattern maker and teacher. Together with her daughter Stefanie she now runs 'made-simple', a website providing eays-to-make vintage dress patterns, courses and personal advice on dress-making and patterning.
